Fertiliser & Compost Tests
Detailed analysis is available for liquid or solid, organic, mineral or chemical fertilisers, manures and composts. We offer major nutrients, trace elements, heavy metal contaminants, bio-hazard indicators and biological tests. Customised tests are available by arrangement.
Regardless of which test you require please download form (below) which includes instructions for taking and sending your samples to us. You can pay online (if available) or send payment along with your samples.
FT-1 Basic Fertiliser Quality
pH, EC, Total: N, P, K, TOC, C:N Ratio, MC.
FT-2 Full Fertiliser Analysis
pH, EC, Total: N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na, S, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, B, Mo, TOC, C:N Ratio, MC.
CFT-1 Complete Fertiliser Analysis
pH, EC, Total: N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na, S, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, B, Mo, TOC, C:N Ratio, MC, Active Lactic acid bacteria, Fungi, Yeast, Actino-bacteria, & Photosynthetic bacteria.
T & A Total & Available Analysis
FT-2 + Available: Ca, Mg, Na, K, P (Olsen), N, S, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, B, Mo, TOC, C:N Ratio. This package can also include CEC, depending on the product, therefore this package is not available to purchase online. Not suitable for liquids.
Organic Compost Analysis
Total & Available nutrients (as above) including CEC, Bio-hazard indicators: Faecal coliforms, Salmonella, Listeria (to show that composting is complete and there are no special handling issues), Contaminant metals: Cd, Pb, Hg, As, Ni, Cr, Cu, Zn, Se, B. Contaminant pesticides: Organo-chlorides, Organo-phosphates. Including recommendations if applicable. This package is not available to purchase online.

Directions for sending in a sample of Fertiliser or Compost material:
Samples need to be taken from all areas of the pile (middle, sides etc.) for a good representative average. When taking samples please ensure you only use stainless steel or PVC so as not to contaminate. Mix samples in a clean plastic container, using clean gloves, and depending on the analysis required (see below) place a minimum of 300g into a brand new zip-lock plastic bag (sandwich bags from the supermarket are ideal). Please express post the day of sampling to our PO Box address.
If you are not paying online, please include payment (credit card, cheque) with your sample.
Amount of sample needed for analysis: FT-1, FT-2, T&A , CFT-1 = 300g
Amount of sample needed for: Organic Compost Analysis = 600g

Ordering Instructions:
After clicking on one of the Add to Cart buttons you will be directed to the PayPal site and a simple 5-step process:
Step 1: Purchase details. The details of your purchase will appear in a new window. Here you have two choices – either proceed with the payment process or (if you want to add more items) continue to select other tests or optional items.
Step 2: Payment method. Once you are ready to proceed you can either use a PayPal account, or your credit card details.
Step 3: Your details. Here you will be asked for your postal address details (the place you want us to send the test report) and either your credit card or PayPalaccount details (depending on your choice in step 2). It is important to complete all details.
Step 4: Review details. Here you can check the details you have entered and make corrections if necessary. Once you click Continue, you will be returned to the SWEP website.
Step 5: Confirmation email. You will receive notification of your purchase details by email.
Important: Please print a copy of your email notification from PayPal and enclose it with the sample(s) as proof of purchase.
